Every class was a test in the beginning and a testimony at the end. What was once a struggle, now feels so good! Walking became jogging, and eventually jogging became running. There were snowstorms and holidays, but I just kept coming back. Some mornings I was exhausted from barely sleeping the night before. Makiah taught one of those first classes and I’ll never forget her words during a 30 second push: “You’re stronger than you think you are!” Something resonated and I was brought to tears during class because I felt like I was standing at the base of a mountain trying to get to the peak, but also I knew that she was right. I started back again by walking on the treadmills. Initially the pounds melted off, but I noticed a plateau at more than 30 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight! Well, once I got the green light to exercise from the doctor at 6 weeks out, I immediately returned to my happy place: Shred415 South Loop. Not really relevant to everyone unless youve been to both locations.On Sept 25, 2018, I gave birth to my second child. If youre trying to build muscle this class isnt really for you its more about losing and toning what you already have not gaining.Last, the only reason i didnt give south loop five stars is I dislike that they dont have an awesome ice machine like Hinsdale. Well worth the investment and ideal if you want to lose weight but lack motivation to work out or lack the knowledge as to what works outs to do on your own. I was committed to an avg of three classes a week for three months and I lost 30lbs, so it works.You have a variety of instructors to choose from depending on the time and day of course but it allows you to find who motivates you best and whos style are you most comfortable with.Ive tried Orange Theory and personal trainers at La Fitness nothing compares to Shred415.

You will target your entire body, Ive left feeling every muscle in my body was worked. This workout is an instructor lead class with high focus on cardio. I CANNOT WAIT!!!! Sign up and go to a class here already! You can thank me later. Im actually going to drive an hour on Sat to take a class with Melissa this weekend. It is such an all around better experience. Coaches have more personal interaction and classes are smaller. The playlists at Shred are much better than OTF. Its nice to not overwork the same muscles everyday so that I dont have to worry about injuring myself. They are well rounded, target specific areas on certain days and never overwork the same muscle groups as OTF does. The workouts at Shred415 are FAR SUPERIOR. I go 5-6 times a week and how I miss Melissa, Brandon and the other instructors at Shred. There isnt a Shred by me, so I have been going to OrangeTheory since they were cleared to open. The workouts helped with stress relief, my anxiety and overall outlook on life. While Shredding I had the best body of my life. My office and everything else was shut down shortly thereafter.

With this pandemic, my last workout was on March 13th. I moved where there is no Shred (what was I thinking?!?!?!) and would take my Shred415 class before work, or during a work break. Ive been going for years as I work downtown and lived downtown for a long time as well.
